Objectives TEKS:123.47 Computer Applications
Students will conduct and document focused research.(3)The student uses computer applications to facilitate the design and development of products or services. (B) use desktop-publishing software to create a newsletter;(A) participate in the organization and operation of a real or simulated computer project; and(B) develop a plan for completing a project.
The student describes the importance of teamwork, leadership, integrity, honesty, work habits, and organizational skills. The student is expected to:(B) use teamwork to solve problems;(G) use time management techniques to develop and maintain work schedules and meet deadlines; and(H) complete his/her work according to established criteria.(9) The student manages a computer technology project. The student is expected to:(D) use simulation software for research and development;(C) use graphic software to create and modify images;
Students will gain experience making CAD models of their own designs.(13) The student solves problems, thinks critically, and makes decisions related to computer technology. The student is expected to:(A) develop or improve a product by following a problem-solving strategy;(B) apply critical-thinking strategies to the analysis and evaluation of proposed technological solutions; and(C) apply decision-making techniques to the selection of computer technology Students will gain experience creating othographic and isometric drawing from physical objects-(Geo-Gami)
Students will find the surface area of a physical object (GEO-GAMI)
Students will further understand the importance of having multi-view drawings when making CAD part files.(E) use machining software to produce or simulate the production of products;(F) simulate computer-aided manufacturing;(G) use tool path verification software; and(H) use computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) applications to produce project drawings.
Students will learn new CAD modeling techniques using Inventor Software.
